Zombies don't wait for nice weather.

Zombies.. being creatures of mindless perseverance for the consumption of flesh have no inclination to wait for fair weather before starting their apocalyptic rise from the grave. To that end it is prudent to familiarize yourself with your chosen anti-zombie weapons in all conceivable conditions of use.
This can be very difficult when you live in the middle of a desert. With some fortuitous timing we managed to be at the outdoor gun range during the only snowstorm to hit Phoenix in a very long time. OK, technically Phoenix only got graupel but out on the edge of town, in the hills, there were honest snowflakes. It was a little late for Christmas (I can't remember my last white Christmas, even when visiting family in colder areas), but it finally put me in the holiday spirit.
I had a great time shooting in the cold and wind and wet. Its nice to know that with ice flurries in the face I can still hit the 200 yard target while standing with the AR-15 using iron sights. I'm not to terrible with the pistol either but I am definitely not used to the gloves. My aim wasn't great but my groupings were still fairly tight. I just need a little more practice... if only the zombies will stay dead for a little while longer.

I find it slightly disturbing that a day at the range, practicing for the coming zombie Apocalypse, is what filled your heart with Christmas spirit.
Tell me, did you get coal in your stocking this year?

No no no.. it was the snow and the cold that filled me with the Christmas Spirit. In fact once it started snowing were a few of us that started humming Christmas songs. The zombie practice just filled my heart with joy, which is known to be a byproduct of the Christmas spirit. I will have you know my stalking was filled with BBQ sauce and chocolate.

I can confirm that we in fact were signing (mostly to ourselves) Christmas carols at the range... I finally caught the Christmas spirit when it started to SNOW and I was loading the big magazine for my AR-15.
