Zombies don't wait for nice weather.

Zombies.. being creatures of mindless perseverance for the consumption of flesh have no inclination to wait for fair weather before starting their apocalyptic rise from the grave. To that end it is prudent to familiarize yourself with your chosen anti-zombie weapons in all conceivable conditions of use.
This can be very difficult when you live in the middle of a desert. With some fortuitous timing we managed to be at the outdoor gun range during the only snowstorm to hit Phoenix in a very long time. OK, technically Phoenix only got graupel but out on the edge of town, in the hills, there were honest snowflakes. It was a little late for Christmas (I can't remember my last white Christmas, even when visiting family in colder areas), but it finally put me in the holiday spirit.
I had a great time shooting in the cold and wind and wet. Its nice to know that with ice flurries in the face I can still hit the 200 yard target while standing with the AR-15 using iron sights. I'm not to terrible with the pistol either but I am definitely not used to the gloves. My aim wasn't great but my groupings were still fairly tight. I just need a little more practice... if only the zombies will stay dead for a little while longer.
